What is the connection between "Dismiss the hundred schools and revere only the Confucians" and the organization of the Imperial College?

In 140 BC, Dong Zhongshu responded to Emperor Wu's "Countermeasures for the Promotion of Virtue and Virtue" and answered three times in a row, putting forward the idea of "Dismissing the Hundred Schools and Exclusively Respecting the Confucians and the Scholars", which was appreciated by Emperor Wu. He also combined some of the ideas of Taoism and Yin-Yang and Five Elements into Confucianism and transformed them to form the Neo-Confucian system with the characteristics of the times. The Neo-Confucianism was fully recognized by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, and it was set as a national textbook, and Confucianism gradually became the mainstream of traditional Chinese culture.

In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, the practice of the Tao of Huang-Lao, the rule of inaction, and rest with the people, the political atmosphere was relaxed, and the various schools of thought were revived. However, the political unity, the requirement of ideological unity with the corresponding, the urgent need for a political unity to make theoretical explanations for the academic thinking. And the abuse of Legalist thought in the Qin Dynasty had already caused serious evil consequences. Therefore, only moderate Confucianism was adapted to the needs of the society at that time, and at that time, Confucianism was already a new system of thought that kept pace with the times by mixing Taoism, Yin-Yang and Five Elements, and even part of Legalism. This is the reason why Confucianism was taken seriously in the Han Dynasty.

1) Confucian classics were made compulsory textbooks, and there were instructors specializing in the study and dissemination of the Five Classics, so that education was monopolized by Confucianism;

2) the establishment of the Taixue Academy broke the previous rule of having noble bureaucrats serving as officials for generations, and greatly enhanced the status of Confucianism;

Note: The Taixue Academy was not only the first government-run supreme institution of higher education in China, but also one of the earliest official institutions of learning to impart knowledge and study theology in the world. The first official institution of higher learning in the world was founded to impart knowledge and study. The establishment of the Imperial College made it possible for the children of non-aristocratic families to enter the civil service on the basis of the qualifications of the Imperial College. The status of Confucianism was greatly enhanced, and the doctrines of the various schools of thought gradually fell into obscurity.

3) The establishment of schools in all counties of the country and the initial establishment of the local education system made it possible to promote Confucianism in the counties, and Confucianism began to be in a position of exclusivity among the people.

Note: Emperor Wu of Han also encouraged scholars to engage in private Confucian education, which laid a solid social foundation for the promotion of Confucianism

Since then, Confucian scholars gradually became the protagonists on the stage of Chinese culture, and Confucianism became the orthodox thought that was revered by the rulers of successive dynasties, and gradually became the mainstream thought of traditional Chinese culture.
