History of North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower

North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower is located in Zhengzhou, the mother river of the Chinese nation, on the bank of the Yellow River. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province, which is mainly managed by Henan Province. It is one of the key universities supported by Henan Province. The school is an excellent school for evaluating the undergraduate teaching level of ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and it is a university established by the doctoral degree granting unit. At present, the school has developed into a university characterized by water conservancy and electric power, focusing on engineering, and coordinating the development of science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management, literature and law.

In the early days of the founding of New China, under the direct care of the State Council, Fu Yu 195 1, then Minister of Water Resources, founded the predecessor of the school-Beijing Water Conservancy School of the Ministry of Water Resources. 1958 Beijing hydropower correspondence college and Beijing hydropower school merged to form Beijing Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, which is under the management of the Ministry of Water Resources. 1960-197819, Mr. Wang Huzhen, a famous water conservancy expert and a member of the first department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the principal of the school. From 65438 to 0965, the school began to recruit and train graduate students. 1969, the school moved to Hebei Province, and successively opened schools in Yuecheng Reservoir and Handan City. 1978 was renamed North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, and graduate department was located in the former Beijing campus. 1990 The school moved to Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. In 2000, the management system was established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province, with Henan Province as the main management. In 2009, the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province signed an agreement to jointly build North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, becoming the third provincial institution in Henan Province.

The school has two campuses, Garden Campus and Longzihu Campus, covering an area of 2,330 mu. The school has 18 teaching units, including Water Conservancy College, Resources and Environment College, Civil and Transportation College, Mechanical College, Electric Power College, Environment and Municipal Engineering College, Architecture College, Management and Economics College, Mathematics and Information Science College, Information Engineering College, Foreign Languages College, Law School, Ideological and Political Education College, Software College, Sports Department, Humanities and Arts Education Center, International Education College and Continuing Education College. There are 49 undergraduate majors, with more than 5000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates/kloc-0. 198 1 was awarded the first master's degree by the state. At present, there are 28 master's majors in water conservancy and hydropower engineering, hydraulic structural engineering, hydraulics and river dynamics, geological engineering, hydrology and water resources, agricultural soil and water engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, management science and engineering, computer application technology, mechanical design and theory, fluid machinery and engineering, and applied mathematics. The school has 3 provincial key disciplines and 2 1 provincial key disciplines. The school has the qualification of graduate students' single-recruit examination right, the qualification of recommending and enrolling graduate students without examination, the qualification of applying for master's degree with the same academic ability and the qualification of recruiting and cultivating master's degree in engineering. The school cooperates with the Institute of Geology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, farmland irrigation research institute, Tsinghua University and Tongji University to train doctoral students.

The school has more than 1300 faculty members. Pan, an academician of the two academies, is a senior consultant of our school, and Gu, Wang Hao, Ni, and China Academy of Engineering are professors and double-hired academicians of our school. The school also hired Liu Guangding, Wang Sijing, Lin Hao, Zhao Guojun, Li Yining and other well-known scholars at home and abroad, academicians of the Academy of Engineering or academicians of the Academy of Engineering as part-time professors in our school. The school has 6 provincial distinguished professor posts. In recent years, more than 100 people have won honorary titles such as national model teachers, outstanding backbone teachers of the Ministry of Education, candidates for the national "100 million talents project", provincial teaching masters, outstanding experts in provincial management, and provincial academic and technical leaders. After years of construction, a team of teachers with sufficient quantity, reasonable structure, high teaching level and good development trend has been formed.

Our school has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 90 scientific research institutes and enterprises, and conducted cooperative research or jointly trained graduate students. The school has three provincial key laboratories, 1 academician workstation, 1 academician laboratory,1/institute. In recent years, the school has undertaken more than 30 national scientific research projects.

The school is the designated training base for supervision engineers of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Construction, with training points all over the country, and trains more than 2,000 supervision engineers and supervisors for the country every year. The school engineering supervision center is a first-class construction supervision qualification unit, which undertakes the supervision tasks of many large-scale projects such as Dongshen water supply reconstruction, Pearl River Estuary regulation and Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project in Shanxi. The "Dongshen" water supply reconstruction project, which the school participated in scientific research and supervision, won the "Luban Award" of China construction project and the special prize of Guangdong scientific and technological progress, and was praised as "clean project" by CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The school pays attention to the combination of Industry-University-Research and actively participates in local economic construction and national large-scale water conservancy projects. He has participated in scientific research, design, supervision, model test and other major national hydropower construction projects such as Sanmenxia, Wanjiazhai, Gezhouba, Xiaolangdi, Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, South-to-North Water Transfer Project, East Shenzhen-Hong Kong Water Supply Project, and Dredging at the Pearl River Estuary. With Grade B qualification, the Institute of Survey, Design and Research has successfully undertaken the design of key and bright projects in Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, Zhengzhou Acrobatic Hall and other provinces and cities, and won high praise from peers at home and abroad.

The school has a long history of international academic exchanges and cooperation. Since 1958, it has accepted students from Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, Cameroon and other countries. 1960 The school was entrusted by the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power to build Vietnam Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower. The school also actively carries out various forms of academic exchange activities, and has sent outstanding young and middle-aged teachers to the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and other countries for further study, investigation or cooperative research. The school has established inter-school cooperation and exchange relations with internationally renowned universities such as Warwick University, Moscow University of Architecture and Engineering, Stanford University, etc. The school signed the "1-2-1China-US Talent Training Program" with Toye State University and Pittsburgh State University, and began to cooperate with Swinburne University of Technology in 2006.

The school was rated as "provincial civilized unit", "provincial civilized school" and advanced university in Party building and ideological and political work in Henan Province.
