One of Guangxi Cuisine —— Yulin White Elephant
Yulin popcorn is made of high-quality glutinous rice, steamed in a cage, germinated, shaped, dried, soaked in sugar water and finally fried.
It is shaped like a disk, with yellow in white and sweet in crisp. It will be broken into several pieces with a little pressure, commonly known as (white glutinous rice), which means white and loose. It is a traditional food of Yulin Spring Festival.
As early as the apocalypse of the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 162 1- 1627), Yulin had the custom of making it. In the early years of Qing Dynasty, white glaze became a famous scenic spot in Yulin.
In the 1940s, white bread in Yulin was very popular, which gradually became one of the local traditional foods in Yulin and one of the famous cakes in Guangxi.
I can't help sighing the profoundness of China's traditional food culture. Yulin white bamboo is a kind of cultural, connotative and delicious folk food, which is more delicious when eaten and fried now.
