Where does Nanzhao tie-dye belong?

Tie-dyeing in Weishan, Nanzhao Town has the characteristics of national traditional crafts, and was once named as "Weishan, the hometown of tie-dyeing art in China" by the Ministry of Culture of China. Weishan tie-dyeing has been well received by the market since 1985 first appeared in Beijing International Trade Fair. Its products are exported to Japan, South Korea, Europe and other countries and regions, among which tie-dyed kimonos are sold to Japan in large quantities every year.

Tie-dyeing, called "Twisted Valle" in ancient times, became popular in Qin and Han Dynasties, and the art of tie-dyeing matured in Tang and Song Dynasties. Tie-dyeing has spread from the Central Plains to Weishan for more than 1000 years. In modern society, Nanzhao Town still uses the most traditional technology for production and processing, and most links are completed by delicate hands, which makes tie-dyeing a famous art overseas. 1998, folk craftsmen found that Eupatorium adenophorum growing in the field can be used to dye yellow cloth, and the dyed color is bright and not easy to fade, and there is a special smell that can repel mosquitoes. Eupatorium adenophorum is a harmful plant, but it turns waste into treasure in Weishan, which greatly enriches the color of tie-dyeing and is more popular in the market.

Nanzhao town attaches great importance to the exploration and development of tie-dyeing as a precious national craft, which makes tie-dyeing transition from scattered family workshop production to industrial production. By the end of 2007, tie-dyeing enterprises have rapidly developed into six enterprises with export qualifications. Tie-dyeing became the pillar industry of Nanzhao Town, and began to step into the track of commodity economy from natural economy, which led to the emergence of many professional flower-tying villages and flower-tearing villages, and formed the industrial development model of "company+farmers". By the end of 2007, there were 6 tie-dyeing enterprises with 550 employees, with an annual output value of17.97 million yuan and profits and taxes of 3120,000 yuan.
