How to make juice sodas
Eating citric acid (or tartaric acid) and baking soda (NaHCO3) dissolved in water can undergo a chemical reaction to produce carbon dioxide gas. When the carbon dioxide gas is dissolved in water containing sugar, fruit juice, and other ingredients, soda can be made.
Tools and materials?
Plastic cola bottles, scales.?
Citric acid, baking soda, salt, sugar, fruit juice, cold boiled water.?
Procedure of the activity?
1, take a clean plastic Coke bottle, add the appropriate amount of sugar (or salt), fruit juice, 1.5 grams of baking soda, cold water (do not fill the bottle too full) and 1.5 grams of citric acid immediately after the cap is screwed on to prevent the soda from rushing out.?
2. Gently shake the Coke bottle and observe the phenomenon.?
Find that the bottle produces a lot of bubbles. As the cap was screwed tightly, the gas produced could not escape. After about 15 minutes, the homemade soda is ready to drink.
