Sushi is a food. Sushi comes from Japan and has a long history. This dish is very popular in America, Britain and many other countries.

Sushi is made of rice. All types of sushi have some kind of rice. Rice is mixed with vinegar. There are other things in it, such as vegetables and fish called "neta". Some sushi is wrapped in seaweed (sometimes called "seaweed"), while others are not. Some kinds of fish are safe to eat raw and won't make you sick.

There are different kinds of sushi. Sushi is made of fish or vegetables on sushi rice. Sushi is made of fish or vegetable rolls in rice.

Sushi can be eaten by hand or chopsticks. Soy sauce, mustard, gari (sweet and pickled ginger) and other ingredients are often put on sushi.

In Japan, sushi is sometimes sold in "conveyor belt stores", and sushi is put on a conveyor belt to pass customers. When sushi passes by, people can take the sushi they want at will. The color of the plate shows the price of sushi. In some shops, any plate is 100 yen.
