Test drive Dongfeng Nissan Ariya Ariya, traditional car companies better than the new forces?

Have you ever seen a new car from a joint-venture brand giving big discounts at the end of the market half a month after its launch?

There are. For example, the Dongfeng Nissan ARIYA Arya, which was launched on September 27, with a market guide price of 272,800-342,800 yuan; half a month later, an authoritative automotive website's original content reported that some of its models had reached a maximum discount of 45,000 yuan in the terminal market.

Generally speaking, the launch of price concessions at the end of the market is to improve the competitiveness of the product, or the attractiveness of the product to the user. So, is the ARIYA Arya, which has been given high hopes by Dongfeng Nissan, a bad product? With this question, I recently test drove the ARIYA.

It's a tram that can be driven with the habit of an oil car

Possibly because of the preconceived notions of the new power trams, many people think that driving a tram should be different from driving an oil car, such as accelerating fast, having a single-pedal mode, and having a pocket gear, Human-machine interaction should be simple, etc.

But I think the experience of a trolley is not just about providing a new form of experience, it's about whether or not the experience is comfortable and convenient in a safe way.

The ARIYA is a trolley that's familiar because you can drive it almost exactly as you would a gas-guzzler.

Specifically, it still uses a gearshift mechanism arranged on the armrest console, and it's not too different in appearance from the electronic gearshift mechanism on the gas car, except for the B gear, which favors kinetic energy recovery. If you don't enable e-Pedal, the single-pedal mode, it has a brake pedal and an electric pedal that are no different from those on an oil car.

Possibly for the sake of a sportier experience, the ARIYA's steering is tighter and even a bit heavier, especially at low speeds and at start-up.

The test drive model is the top version of ARIYA Long Range, priced at 284,800 RMB, and considering the terminal discount, the actual naked car price may be around 250,000 RMB. It is equipped with a single motor for front-drive models, with a maximum power of 178kW and a maximum torque of 300N-m; with a 90kWh lithium ternary battery, the CLTC has a pure electric range of 623km.

Some people may say that the power parameters are not eye-catching, but in fact, because of the motor's "low-rpm, high-torque" characteristics, it can be used in urban areas with low to medium range, and in the middle and lower regions of the city. But in fact, because of the motor's "low rpm, high torque" characteristics, the power experience in the city at low and medium speeds is quite good, and better than most fuel-efficient cars on sale.

So if you look at it from the perspective of a gasoline car, the ARIYA's top-of-the-line long range version can indeed match its sporty styling in terms of power. As for the range performance, I won't share it in this post because of the time constraints of this test drive.

Of course, the ARIYA is still a NISSAN-badged car, and a family-oriented compact SUV, and for that reason, comfort is a hallmark of this car. The specific performance in two aspects:

One, based on the front MacPherson + rear multi-link independent suspension settings, ARIYA chassis is a comfort-oriented tuning, it can be from the tires and the road surface between the slight vibration filtering clean, even if it is through some of the visible potholes on the road surface, you basically will not feel how much vibration; in addition to the faster speed over the sinking of some differences in height from the road surface, it will be a little bit more than the road surface, but also a little bit more than the road surface, it will be a little bit more than the road surface. When you press through a manhole cover that has settled and has some height difference with the road surface at a faster speed, it will make you feel the top stretching sensation, and it's harder and more direct, which is good because it doesn't drag the road.

Also, Nissan's big sofas come with the ARIYA, and that's one of the reasons why the ARIYA's ride can be skewed toward comfort.

Two, the ARIYA is quieter inside. Although trams are generally quieter than gasoline vehicles, the ARIYA Long Range top version comes with front acoustic glass, so its interior noise is relatively low.

Additionally, the ARIYA Long Range Top Version is equipped with Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX 050 tires, which are characterized by good handling performance while maintaining a good quiet effect. From the actual experience, its tire noise is not high, which further adds to the comfort of the whole car.

As for other human-computer interactions, such as the dual-screen-based car-machine interconnection, although the feature set is rich and better than that of the previous joint venture brand oil cars, but compared with the current new forces of the car machine, its UI, UE experience is quite different, and it is still a bit traditional.

It's an "atypical" Dongfeng Nissan tram with an avant-garde design

While I think the ARIYA can be driven in the same way as a gasoline-powered vehicle, its design is The design is avant-garde and worthy of its status as a tram in two ways:

First, ARIYA's body shape favors the crossover sports style, with bold changes in the profile, creating a three-dimensional sculpture of the sense of sight. The front face is full and simple, the side of the body has a larger proportion of doors than windows (without affecting the field of vision), a sense of high class, and the tail is also full. In my impression, traditional car companies in the past SUV new car creative sketches, probably ARIYA ARIYA real car looks like.

Secondly, ARIYA's interior design may not be as avant-garde as its exterior, but the aesthetics are good, the sense of technology is more than adequate, and designers are trying to refrain from using physical buttons in order to achieve a sense of simplicity inside the car.

In terms of creating a sense of texture, ARIYA's soft material cladding can be seen everywhere, plus the use of wood grain trim, gold metal trim, etc., which also further enhances the sense of quality inside the car. It is worth mentioning that the use of wood grain, which represents nature, is also a common technique used by Japanese cars to emphasize the green aspect of the texture.

Other than that, the front row is also a place that reflects ARIYA's "atypical" design. First of all, by operating the button on the center armrest, the center armrest can be moved longitudinally, which has the advantage of making it easy for people with different body sizes to find the most comfortable position, and the main and passenger sides of the ARIYA are connected, which on the one hand reflects the feeling of the future cabin in the era of auto-pilot, and on the other hand, makes it easier for the main driver to go to the passenger side.

Secondly, because the center armrest adopts a removable design, it can't design an armrest box like the general models, for this reason, ARIYA has designed a retractable and hidden storage space right under the center console, and the control buttons are also designed on the center armrest.

In terms of space, the ARIYA's front and rear rows offer plenty of room, with room for improvement in the rear seat's leg support. The trunk space is moderate, enough for daily use, and the trunk is not equipped with a spare tire, but is equipped with a quick tire repair device.
