How to remove the faucet filter

There are generally two kinds of household faucets, one is a long-necked faucet used in the kitchen, and the other is a press faucet on the washbasin. The filter tip of the long neck faucet is embedded, located at the end of the faucet, and the surface is integrated with the faucet. As long as you twist it hard, you can put it on your hand and unscrew it more easily. The filter of push-type faucet is generally embedded, which is quite laborious to screw up and needs the help of wrench. Now there is a special faucet filter wrench, which is convenient. Note that the lower part of the filter tip generally has a groove part with two symmetrical small planes, which can be tightened with a small wrench. If the front is facing the faucet, you can turn to the left. If the filter tip is too tight, wrap it with cloth (to prevent the coating from wearing) and tighten it with a wrench. It should be noted here that if the filter tip is plastic, it is easily distorted. Actually, it doesn't matter if you twist it. It's dirty after long use, and it's just changed. Faucet filters are sold everywhere and are made of various materials. You can choose them according to the size of your faucet.

How to remove rusty faucet filter

Rust loosening agent: buy a bottle of rust loosening agent, spray it on the filter of the faucet and unscrew it for two minutes. If it doesn't loosen, you can tap it a few times with a hammer or fall and twist it again.

Kerosene: You can soak the faucet filter element with kerosene (kerosene is very transparent), and then twist it back and forth with a wrench until it is loose.

Salt-vinegar solution: mix salt and vinegar together, let the salt be fully diluted in vinegar, then heat it, soak it with absorbent sponge or rag, put it in the place where the faucet filter has rust, cover it for 20-30 minutes, and scrub it hard with coarse cloth dipped in salt-vinegar mixture, so that stubborn rust can be easily removed;

Coca-Cola: If it is a chrome-plated faucet, it is recommended to clean it with Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola contains a small amount of phosphoric acid, which reacts with chromium to form a chromium phosphate protective layer.

Toothpaste: If you clean the faucet with a soft cloth and toothpaste, pay attention. Be careful that toothpaste will grind small marks on the precious faucet. Use crystal toothpaste well.

Boiling water: rust needs water and oxygen, and the solubility of gas decreases with the increase of temperature. The solubility of oxygen in hot water is relatively small, which means that there is less oxygen in hot water and more oxygen in cold water, so the cold water faucet rusts faster. Similarly, you can pour some boiling water on the tap first, then some gasoline, and knock it with pliers every 1 hour. When it is loose, you can take off the faucet filter.
