What is the difference between moxibustion blistering and scalding?

Steps/methods

During moxibustion, many people will get blisters and even purulent, but this is not a scald, but a phenomenon in which pathogenic factors are discharged. The moisture in the body is heavy and cold, and it is not excluded to be excreted. During moxibustion, the skin will blister and fester. If the blister is colorless, it means that in the comparison of internal cold, if the color of the blister is yellow, it means that the internal heat is more serious. If the blister is bloody, it means that the body is wet and toxic. When the burning moxa stick directly touches the skin, it hisses, accompanied by severe pain and blisters. This is a burn. Bad quality moxa sticks are easy to fall off after burning, and also easy to cause burns and blisters, which need to be handled in time.

Skin burns due to prolonged contact with low-heat objects above body temperature. If the skin is exposed to 70℃ for one minute, it may be scalded. After scalding, you can wash the wound with cold water first, and then soak it in cold water for half an hour. The earlier the soaking time, the lower the water temperature and the better the effect. If the wound has blisters, don't soak it to prevent infection, or gently apply it with light salt water to achieve anti-inflammatory effect.

After moxibustion blisters, cotton swabs can be dipped in iodophor to disinfect blisters for 3 times. Blisters generally do not need treatment and can heal themselves. Big blisters should be punctured, but never cut off the skin of the blisters. Avoid spicy food and high-calorie food, eat more high-protein food, which is conducive to the growth of wound cells and accelerate healing. Keep the wound clean and dry every day, do not get wet, and avoid strong friction between the wound and gauze. In severe cases, you need to go to the hospital in time for treatment.
