How to draw New Year's paintings

Nianhua is a kind of Chinese painting, which began in ancient times as "Door God Painting", one of the Han folk arts, and also one of the common folk crafts. Qing Guangxu years, officially known as the New Year's paintings, is a unique Chinese Han painting genre, but also the Chinese rural people enjoy the art form. Most of them are used for posting in the New Year to decorate the environment, containing the meaning of blessing the New Year with good luck and celebration, hence the name. Traditional folk New Year's paintings are mostly made of watermarks on wooden boards. The old New Year's paintings have different names because of the size of the painting and the amount of processing. The whole sheet of large called "Palace tip", a paper three open called "San Cai". Processing more and more detailed called "painting Palace tip", "painting Sanjai". Those painted with gold powder are called "Jin Gongjian" and "Jin Sanjai". Products made before June are called "Green Edition" and those made after July or August are called "Autumn Edition".

New Year's paintings of the production method of artificial drawing, woodblock printing, watermarking color, half printing and half painting, lithography, offset printing and so on. Generally speaking, there are four processes in woodblock prints:

(1) the artist drafts, and draws the final draft in white on burlap or thin cotton paper;
