According to legend, this snack originated in the late Ming Dynasty, when Tianjin was the fief of Judy in Rebecca. Due to Wen Jian's radical policy of reducing the number of vassals, Judy rebelled in the fief, which was called "the Battle of Jingnan" in history. At that time, in order to make the rations more portable, Yan Jun smeared a cake baked with flour with sheep fat.
Later, a family named Liu saw that this kind of cake was military food, so he came up with the idea of making convenient and delicious cakes. After several generations of continuous improvement of the Liu family, the production method of "Toad Spits Honey" was finally found out. Because this kind of dim sum will naturally spit out stuffing at the edge of the cake during baking, it is called "Toad Spits Honey" figuratively.
