Which way is better to do cataract surgery?

At present, there are the following surgical methods for cataract:

The first is cataract needle dialing, which is the oldest treatment method. It refers to destroying the suspensory ligament of the lens by mechanical means and pushing the lens into the vitreous cavity. This operation has been basically eliminated because of many complications.

The second type is cataract extraction, which means that the turbid lens is completely removed. The operation is relatively simple, and the requirements for surgical instruments and skills are not high. However, this operation is rarely used at present because of its great trauma, many complications and easy to cause glaucoma and corneal endothelial damage.

The third is extracapsular cataract extraction, that is, the nucleus and cortex of the lens are removed, but the posterior capsule is retained. This operation has a good effect because it does not interfere with or destroy the intraocular structure, and is mainly used for the treatment of over-mature cataract.

The fourth method is phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation, which is the most routine and widely used method to treat cataract at present.
