Traditional pest control in traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy

Insect control of medicinal materials in Chinese pharmacy: moth-eaten has a great influence on medicinal materials, and a large number of medicinal materials warehouses are mainly fumigated with chemicals such as chloropicrin and aluminum phosphide for pest control. For a small amount of medicinal materials stored in pharmacies, except pesticides, the following methods can be used to prevent insects.

1. Sealing method:-Generally, it is sealed piece by piece. Suitable containers can be used and sealed with wax or blood material. Medicinal materials that are afraid of heat can be buried and sealed with dry sand or rice bran, and precious medicinal materials can be sealed with carbon dioxide or nitrogen.

2. Refrigeration method: it is not easy to produce insects at a temperature of about 5℃, and it can be refrigerated and dried in a cold cellar.

3. Antagonism: These two traditional methods are suitable for a small amount of medicinal materials. For example, Alisma orientalis and Cortex Moutan are stored together, Alisma orientalis is insect-free, Cortex Moutan does not change color, Zanthoxylum bungeanum is put in Agkistrodon, camphor is put in velvet antler, Trichosanthes kirilowii and wine are put in frog oil, and so on.
