Poems praising Yuhuatai martyrs
1. The martyrs shed blood for their country and the people mourned for their feelings. Blood stains the stone in front of the stage and wakes up the people. The soul helps the territory drive out foreign enemies, and the soul is the battlefield to protect the home.
2. Iron bones and long hearts make the Yuhuatai bright. The inscription is heavy, and there are laws and regulations for the death of martyrs.
3. Stand up, stand up and show you Huang Ju. Laugh calmly at the death penalty, and justice will never be wronged.
Data expansion:
Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery, located one kilometer outside Zhonghua Gate in the south of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, covers an area of 153.7 hectares. It is the earliest and largest national martyrs cemetery established after the founding of New China.
On the central axis with a total length of 1 0,500 m, the martyrs' regiment sculpture, martyrs' monument, reflection pool, memorial bridge, memorial hall and Loyal Soul Pavilion are successively launched from north to south, forming a central memorial area, which is solemn and magnificent. With the Central Memorial Area, there are also famous memorial buildings on the east and west sides, such as tombs of martyrs and martyrs' places, which are distributed all over the cemetery.
Historical evolution:
According to historical records, Master Guang Yun, a monk, set up an altar here in the early years of Nanliang. Because of its wonderful content, it touched the Buddha, and flowers fell like rain in the sky in an instant, hence the name "Yuhuatai".
During the new democratic revolution, a large number of producers and patriots died heroically in Yuhuatai for national liberation, democracy and freedom. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), in order to cherish the memory of the martyrs, mourn and inherit and carry forward the revolutionary spirit, the Party and the government decided to build a martyrs cemetery here.
Martyrs died in droves;
The dying group sculptures of martyrs are located at the northernmost end of Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery-the burial place of revolutionary martyrs in those days and the burial place of the northern country. The North Martyrs' Institute was the execution ground where the Kuomintang authorities slaughtered revolutionary martyrs from 1927 to 1937, and it was also the place where the number of martyrs was the largest. Carving the Righteousness of Martyrs was completed in 1979, and the main body is light ochre, which was assembled from 179 granite.
Group sculptures have created the indomitable image of nine party member and revolutionary volunteers before their heroic sacrifice. The reason for shaping the Nine Martyrs is that in the traditional culture of China, the "Nine Events" have many meanings, indicating that there are thousands of martyrs who died in Yuhuatai, and this group of sculptures is the representative of their image.
