What is the difference between Taoism and Buddhism?

Most of us in China believe in Taoism, and the founder of Taoism is Laozi, which is what we call the old gentleman on the throne. So Taoism is a traditional religion in China. In the drama "List of Gods", the deities are basically the deities enshrined in famous mountain temples all over China.

Buddhism was introduced to China from India, so many people believe in Buddhism, and Buddhists are committed to doing good and benefiting all beings. It also has a great influence on China. So what's the difference between them?

From the point of dress, Taoism is a traditional religion in China, so dress is the dress of ancient people in China. Buddhist costumes have inherited more foreign characteristics.

Judging from the hairstyle, Taoism puts long hair in a bun. Buddhism basically shaves its head except those who live at home.

Judging from the appellation, Taoism is regarded as a god. People who have made outstanding contributions in the history of China, or heroism in our imagination, can be deified. For example, Guan Yu was named Guan Di Ye, and the illusory hero Yang Jian was named Erlang God. Buddhist disciples are basically called Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Only by seeing through the secular world, everything is empty, and reaching the realm of seeing me, can the awakened one become a Buddha.

Ideologically, it is also different. The idea advocated by Taoism is our traditional Taoist thought, and Buddhism mainly advocates saving the world and caring for everything in the world. Sacrifice the ego and achieve the realm of the ego.
