From the May 4th Movement to the 1930s, China began to establish professional music education institutions. Xiao is an outstanding music educator, composer and music theorist in the modern history of China, and the founder of professional music education in China. It was he who, together with Yang Zhongzi and others, founded the Music and Physical Education Institute in Beijing Women's Normal School in September 1920, and later the Music Training Institute in Peking University. 1927 In July, the National Conservatory of Music was established in Shanghai, which trained many outstanding professional musicians for China, including singers, vocal educators Yu Yiying, Li Xianmin and Shi Yikui. At the same time, there were composers such as Zhao Yuanren, Huang Zi and Zhu Qing, who created a large number of excellent artistic songs, which became the main repertoire of Chinese singers during the May 4th Movement. During the Anti-Japanese War, musicians actively participated in anti-Japanese singing activities, and composers created many anti-Japanese war songs, providing more singing tracks for singers.
It is particularly worth mentioning that Guo and two singers who performed in Yan 'an in April of 1945 successfully used traditional Chinese opera and folk songs, thus promoting the development of national vocal music. From the 1920s to the end of the 1940s, vocal music played an extremely important role in the history of China music, laying a foundation for the development of singing art in the future.
