What's the difference between monitoring hard disk and ordinary hard disk?

1, working hours

In the design process, the hard disk of monitoring level should meet the requirements of 7*24 hours video storage of monitoring equipment, while the design of ordinary hard disk is 5*8 hours, which means it is used five days a week and eight hours a day. If ordinary hard disk is used in monitoring equipment, it will take a long time to read and write, which will inevitably affect the service life of hard disk.

2. Instantaneous starting voltage

The instantaneous starting voltage of ordinary hard disk is generally above 2V or even higher, while the monitoring hard disk starts slowly, and the voltage is controlled below 2V to prevent the hard disk from being damaged due to too high instantaneous starting voltage.

3. Instantaneous starting current

The instantaneous starting current of ordinary hard disk is between 2.8a and 3.2A, and the control current of monitoring hard disk is below 2a. Because in order to save the monitoring video for a long time, the monitoring equipment has a large number of hard disks, and the instantaneous startup current and voltage are small, which will greatly reduce the startup power consumption of the hard disks and improve the service life of the hard disks.

Hard disk is one of the main storage media of computer, which is composed of one or more disks made of aluminum or glass. The disk is covered with ferromagnetic material. Hard disk includes solid state hard disk (SSD disk, new hard disk), mechanical hard disk (HDD traditional hard disk) and hybrid hard disk (HHD, new hard disk based on traditional mechanical hard disk).

SSD uses flash memory particles for storage, and HDD uses disks for storage. HHD: Hybrid hard disk (HHD) is a kind of hard disk that integrates magnetic hard disk and flash memory. Most hard disks are fixed hard disks, which are permanently sealed and fixed in hard disk drives.

Energy-saving technology of magnetic head reset: to save energy by resetting the magnetic head in idle time. Multi-head technology: increase multiple heads to read and write at the same time on the same disk to speed up the hard disk, or use multiple heads to read and write at the same time to speed up the disk, which is mostly used in servers and database centers.
