Can a Muslim celebrate his birthday?

Islam does not advocate the observance of birthdays and considers it as 'bidah and tikrit' (nascent heresy). The reasons for this are as follows: 1. Muhammad and his disciples never celebrated their birthdays; 2. Jews, Christians, and polytheists have the habit of celebrating their birthdays, and Muslims are not allowed to imitate them because Muhammad strictly forbade Muslims from imitating the Gentiles, and Muhammad said: 'If one of them imitates a people, then he belongs to the group of them.' Nowadays, many Muslims not only celebrate their birthdays, but also copy the birthday rituals of Christians: eating birthday cake, blowing out candles, singing birthday songs, etc., which is already dangerous. Imitating the Chinese polytheists' habit of celebrating birthdays is even more un-Islamic. Worshipping the birthday girl and saying so-called birthday greetings that are against Islamic beliefs on birthdays are even more impermissible in the teachings.
