What do Taoist priests do?
Taoist costume is called Taoist robe, which is an ancient Chinese costume in China. They also wear ancient scarves and shoes called cloud shoes. Places where Taoism conducts religious activities are called palaces, temples, Taoist temples or Taoist temples, and most of them live in these temples.
There are two kinds of modern Taoist priests: Quanzhen Taoist priests are monks, with their hair and beard all stored up and their heads tied in a bun. Mostly vegetarian, emphasizing self-cultivation; Zhenghe Taoist priests generally have no hair, and practice emphasizes Fuyong, so they can get married and eat meat. Most of them are monks who don't become monks, also known as fire monks, and a few are monks who mainly engage in Taoist sacrificial activities. Modern orthodox disciples should be taught to become qualified Taoist priests, while Quanzhen disciples should be taught precepts.
The word "Taoist" can also refer to ordinary people who study Taoism and serve it.
