The story of the "Three Family Slaves" is based on Luo Guanzhong's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which says: "There was a general in the neighborhood, with his eyes open and his tiger's whiskers erected upside down, with his eight-foot serpentine spear, and his flying horse screaming: 'The Three Family Slaves are not going anywhere! Zhang Fei of Yan is here! When Lu Bu saw this, he abandoned Gongsun Zan and fought Zhang Fei."
