What are sub-base pump house, dry chamber pump house, wet chamber pump house and block base pump house?

These four pump houses are different types of fixed pump houses.

1, subbase pump house

The foundation of sub-foundation pump house is built separately from the unit foundation, which belongs to single-story structure. Its characteristic is that the structure of pump house is similar to that of general industrial workshop, mostly brick-concrete structure and waterless bottom structure.

2. Drying room pump room

The structural characteristics of dry pump house are two floors above ground and underground. The above-ground structure is basically the same as the sub-foundation pump house. The underground structure is a dry room, and no water is allowed. The main engine group is installed indoors, and its foundation and the bottom plate of the drying room are cast into a whole with reinforced concrete.

3. Wet chamber pump house

Wet chamber pump house is characterized by a wet chamber (i.e. water inlet chamber) at the lower part of the pump house, so it is called wet chamber pump house. Pump room is generally divided into two layers, the lower layer is the intake layer, which is called the intake chamber, and the pump impeller is submerged below the water surface and directly absorbs water from the intake chamber; The upper layer is equipped with motor and power distribution equipment, which is called motor layer.

3. Block-based pump house

Pumping stations equipped with large axial-flow pumps or mixed-flow pumps have high requirements for inlet flow patterns because of large flow. In order to provide good inlet conditions for feed pumps, inlet passages are needed. At the same time, in order to enhance the stability of the pump house, the unit foundation, the bottom plate of the pump house and the inlet channel are integrally poured together to form a large-volume reinforced concrete block structure at the lower part of the pump house, so it is called block pump house.

Extended data

Pump room layout should pay attention to the following matters.

1, the geological conditions of the station site are one of the important bases for the layout of the pump house. If the geological conditions of the station site are not good, it will inevitably affect the structural safety of the pump house after completion. Therefore, when arranging the pump house, appropriate structural measures must be taken, such as reducing the weight of the structure and adjusting the layout of each substructure to meet the requirements of allowable bearing capacity, stability and deformation control of the foundation.

2. The construction, installation, maintenance and management conditions of the pump house are also important basis for the layout of the pump house. A reasonable layout scheme of pump house is not only less in engineering quantity and low in cost, but also the arrangement of various equipment is coordinated with each other.

3. In order to do a good job in the layout of the pump room, the majors of water conservancy engineering, hydraulic machinery, electricity, metal structure and architecture must closely cooperate and compare various schemes, and choose the pump room layout scheme that conforms to the principles of advanced technology, reasonable economy, safety and reliability, and easy management.
