Research Tradition of Semantics
Since the introduction of American Structuralist Linguistics into China, China's Structuralist Lexicology has made great progress, and many works have appeared, such as Analysis and Description of Word Meaning by Mr. Fu Huaiqing and Chinese Semantics by Mr. Jia Yande, all of which are representative works.
Since the end of the 20th century, with the rise of generative linguistics in China, formal semantics has also begun to develop, such as Pan Haihua in Hongkong, China and Lin in Taiwan Province Province, China. In Chinese mainland, this research is still in its infancy. A representative one is Mr. Yuan Yulin from the Chinese Department of Peking University, for example, his research on the Chinese character "Capital".
