What type of drive is typically used in a car?

There are three types of drive for sedans: front-front drive (FF), front-rear drive (FR) and four-wheel drive (4WD).

Front-front drive is a form of drive in which the engine is front-mounted and the front wheels are driven. This is a form of drive that really emerged and was technically perfected after the 1970s, and is now used in most small and medium-sized cars. Front front drive will be the transmission and drive axle made into one, fixed in the engine next to the power directly to the front wheels to drive the vehicle forward, with the image of the words, is "pulling" the vehicle forward.

The front rear drive, is the engine front, rear-wheel drive drive form. This is a traditional form of drive, Guangzhou people are familiar with the Guangzhou Peugeot sedan, is a typical front rear-wheel drive sedan. Using this form of drive sedan, its front wheels are responsible for steering tasks, the rear wheels to undertake driving work. Engine output power through the clutch, transmission, drive shaft to the rear drive axle, drive the rear wheels to make the car forward, with the image of the words, is "pushing" the vehicle forward.

Four-wheel drive was mainly used for off-road vehicles, and now, some sedans have begun to be popularized, the most typical is Subaru and Audi's part of the model.

Four-wheel drive is divided into four modes: full-time (Full-Time), part-time (Part-Time), real-time (Real-Time), and part-time/real-time hybrid.

For example, the qua-tro used in the Audi A43.0 and A6L4.2 is full-time four-wheel drive; the most commonly used four-wheel drive in off-road vehicles and SUVs is part-time four-wheel drive, which can be switched between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive according to the road conditions via a joystick or a button; the part-time four-wheel drive is computer-controlled, and is used in two-wheel drive on a normal road, and becomes four-wheel drive when there is a slip on an abnormal road or a drive wheel. When the drive wheels slip, it changes to 4WD; part-time/timed 4WD can be freely selected according to the driver's preference.
