How did Chu Opera come into being?
Chu Opera was originally one of the traditional Han operas of Huang Bei and Xiaogan, formerly known as Huangxiao ancient painting, also known as Xilu ancient painting. 1926
On September 10, at the meeting of Hubei Dramatists Association, it was officially named Chu Opera at the suggestion of Han Opera artist Fu Xinyi. Its influence covers most areas in central, northern and southeastern Hubei. On May 20th, 2006, Chu Opera was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
