Present situation of coated tools

Coated tools have become the symbol of modern tools, and the utilization rate of coated tools has exceeded 50%. Various cutting tools used in cutting, including turning tools, boring tools, drills, reamers, broaches, taps, thread combs, rolling heads, milling cutters, forming tools, gear hobs and gear shapers, can be coated to improve their performance. The new technology of Ti-Al-X-N coating is to coat a few microns of high hardness and high wear resistance fire-resistant Ti-Al-X-N coating on the surface of high-strength tool matrix by vapor deposition to reduce tool wear, prolong service life and improve cutting speed. It is an important achievement of the national major project of high-grade CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment.
