What is the United Front Work Department

The United Front Department is a constituent department of the Party Committee at all levels, responsible for the Party's united front work. The establishment of a special United Front work organization by the C***nese Communist Party began after the formation of the Anti-Japanese National Unified Front.In December 1937, a meeting of the Politburo of the C***nese Central Committee decided to organize a C***nese delegation to be stationed in the Kuomintang-ruled area of Wuhan, which would be specially responsible for the contact and negotiation with the Kuomintang, and this was the earliest organization in the nature of the United Front work.

The work of the War Department consists of: 1) investigating and studying the theory, guidelines and policies of the United Front, organizing the implementation of the Central Government's guidelines and policies on the United Front, checking the implementation of the United Front policies, and coordinating the relations between the various aspects of the United Front; 2) investigating, studying, and coordinating the examination of the major guidelines and policies on the work relating to nationalities and religions; 3) carrying out overseas United Front work focusing on the unification of the motherland; 4, responsible for the political arrangements for people outside the Party; 5, investigating, studying and reflecting the situation of people representing China's non-publicly owned economy, coordinating relations, and putting forward policy recommendations; 6, carrying out propaganda work for the United Front at home and abroad; 7, accomplishing other tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee.
