How to write a 500-word essay on Dumpling Festival in Shengzhou

The fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar is commonly known as the Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival of the Han Chinese people in China. The essential activities on this day have gradually evolved into: eating zongzi, racing dragon boats, hanging calamus and so on.

Why eat zongzi on Dragon Boat Festival? It has become a big confusion for me. Through the Internet search I understand the reason. There are roughly five legends. 1. because to commemorate Qu Yuan. 2. because to welcome Tao Shen. 3. because it is the festival of the dragon. 4. because it is a bad day. 5. because the summer solstice has arrived.

The Dragon Boat Festival is here, and my family is going to make dumplings. I jumped at the chance to sit down at the table, just like the adults, and began my hard work.

First, I picked up three reed leaves, spread them out flat, and made them into a cone. Next, I put the cleaned glutinous rice into the cone. Immediately after that, when the glutinous rice is at 1/3 of the cone, put in a piece of lean meat and a piece of fat meat that have finished marinating. Then, fill up the cone with glutinous rice. Finally, cover the opening with the remaining leaves from the cone and tie it with a string to make a "lovely" meat dumpling.

In this way, I made three dumplings. Unfortunately, they were not in the right shape, and the area I used them in looked like a war had just ended and was "strewn with corpses". When we were finished, I took all the dumplings to a big pot and cooked them slowly. It was a very long time, I opened the lid from time to time to see if the dumplings were ready, four or five hours later the dumplings were finally ready. I found the alien-shaped dumplings I had wrapped and took a big bite. Wow, it smelled so good! I almost bit off a piece of the dumpling leaf as well.

I ate the rice dumplings I had made with my own hands and thought they were delicious. Even though it's not in the right shape, I still like them because I made them myself.
