Introduction of Dikengyuan
Digongyuan, also known as Tianjingyuan and Digongyuan, locally known as "Tianjingyuan", "Diyinkeng" and "Diyao", is a remnant of the ancient way of people's living in caves, and is known as the "Underground Courtyard" in northern China. In 2007, Shaanxi County in Henan Province was named by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) as the hometown of China's dugout kiln and courtyard culture.1 In 2011, the "dugout courtyard construction technique" was selected as one of the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.2 In 2014, the "dugout courtyard construction technique" was selected as one of the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.
