Which brand of woodworking glue is environmentally friendly?

Speaking of carpentry, many traditional carpenters like pure solid wood furniture without any glue. I think there are too many problems with glue. Like some artificial boards, the owners directly say it is toxic, but some young new carpenters say it is not so exaggerated, but they don't deny that most glue contains less toxins. Today, let's share the best glue for carpenters!

First of all, talk about woodworking-related adhesives. First of all, adhesives for board, mainly urea-formaldehyde adhesive, melamine-formaldehyde adhesive and phenolic adhesive. Literally, it can be seen that they all have formaldehyde to participate in the reaction, specifically:

Urea+formaldehyde+water = urea-formaldehyde adhesive

Melamine+formaldehyde+water = melamine formaldehyde glue

Phenol+formaldehyde+water = phenolic glue

The second is white latex. White latex is widely used in Murphy's own construction site and is an environmentally friendly adhesive. Usually polyvinyl acetate emulsion. This kind of glue can be used alone, without curing agent or heating curing, which is harmless to human body. Its concentration can be as high as 60%, and the rest is water.

The third is all-purpose glue. When decorating, carpenters often use it to stick decorative boards. Because of the use of organic solvents, it has certain toxicity. When polychloroprene rubber adhesive is coated on the surface of decorative board and properly placed in the air, it can crystallize instantly after closed contact, resulting in huge initial adhesion. Therefore, compared with white latex, it does not need to be clamped for a long time and is very convenient to use.

The fourth is hot melt adhesive. EVA hot melt adhesive is used on the edge banding, which is convenient, fast and environmentally friendly.

What glue is the best?

My personal suggestion is white latex or modified white latex.

Finally, remind the owners or wooden friends who want to decorate that the bonding parts should be closely combined as far as possible, especially the white latex, because it contains 70% water, and it is easy to lack glue after drying. In the case of tenon joint, it is very unreliable to glue only on the tenon groove and only on the tenon.
