What is the film production process?

operational approach

1. Preparation

1) to get the script

There are two kinds of scripts, original scripts and adapted scripts. For the original scripts, you can buy others to complete the scripts or edit them now. To adapt a script, you need to buy the right of film and television adaptation from the original copyright owner, and then find a screenwriter to write the script.

2) Specify the budget

After getting the script, analyze the elements of the script itself, such as the story, the scenes involved, etc., and predict the film market prospects, determine the production scale, and formulate the budget.

3) Establish a cast.

After the budget is made, directors, actors, photographers and other creative personnel are selected to form a crew according to the budget.

4) Choose scenery and make props.

After the confirmation of the main creator, it is necessary to determine the shooting scene (interior and exterior), prepare props, and rent photographic lighting equipment. The director completed the shooting schedule and shooting plan.

5) Review the script and get permission to shoot.

After determining the script and the investor, send it to SARFT for review and apply for permission to shoot.

2. Shooting stage

After the preparations were completed, the whole day crew gathered at the shooting location and started shooting. During the period, the production director is responsible for the accommodation, transportation, on-site maintenance, scenic spot liaison, budget control and financial management of the whole crew, and fully guarantees the director's shooting. The director is responsible for daily lens shooting, and completes the collection of all lens materials on schedule within the budget.

3. Post-production

After the filming was completed, the crew was dissolved and the film entered the later stage. The later work includes: lens editing, picture color matching, special effects production, music production, sound synthesis, picture mixing and so on. After the completion of the later stage, it will be sent to the printing factory for printing and copying (no digital film is needed).

4. Review stage

After the film is completed, it will be sent to the Film Bureau for examination and approval, and a film release permit will be issued for screening in cinemas and participation in foreign film festivals.
