"iron ruler" is a traditional instrument in China, also called "acupoint ruler".
When it was introduced to Japan, it was called "サィ" (SAI) in Japan, which translated as "Ronnie fork" or "short fork", and was mostly used by karate practitioners.
The English name is also transliterated from Japanese: "Sai"
Also known as "double iron ruler", because usually each hand holds one. It can be taken forward or backward. Side branches are mostly used to block each other's weapons, so they have great advantages against swords or longer weapons.
Iron ruler is a short musical instrument, which spreads all over Hunan, with different routines and playing styles. Take iron ruler in Zhuzhou as an example, which was created by Lei Mingguang, who hated Shaolin Temple in Qing Dynasty. Lei Mingguang's ancestral home is in Henan. When he was young, he went to Shaolin Temple to get a haircut because he couldn't resist seeing clearly. Later, he devoted himself to studying the martial arts of the North and South factions, named the essence of martial arts equipment, and created "iron ruler" Kung Fu. Since then, he has worked hard for a long time and achieved remarkable results. Iron ruler Kung Fu has been listed as one of Shaolin's housekeeping skills, which should not be lightly accomplished. After Shaolin was robbed, Zhong Jinbiao, a descendant, fled to Liling Riyue Temple to settle down and became a disciple. "iron ruler" spread in Zhuzhou area. It is very popular in Hakka dialect, but now iron ruler is very unpopular in China.
Iron ruler practices internal qi and external strength, leads with intention, urges with shortness of breath, combines rigidity with softness, is strong and brave, and has a funny momentum; Both offensive and defensive, steady footwork, avoiding reality and hitting the virtual, turning hands at will, and doing things by hand; Advance and retreat freely, simple and changeable, requiring the integration of hand, eye, body, method, step, spirit and strength. Features: the routine is short and pithy, with compact attack and defense, flexible application and generous ups and downs. There are both the softness of entanglement at home and the rigidity of point, thorn, crack and collapse at home.
