Yu Chengdong: Huawei's high-end mobile phone was given to Apple's low-end mobile phone to Xiaomi, OPPO and VIVO.

On April 30th, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, forwarded an article entitled "Falling over Huawei and Eating Apples", with a comment that "in less than two years, the United States imposed four rounds of sanctions on Huawei, one round was more vicious than the other, which pushed Huawei's consumer business to an extreme predicament, unable to deliver goods, and high-end products were mainly given to Apple."

Yu Chengdong further explained, "The high-end domestic market of Huawei's mobile phone tablet was given to Apple, the low-end to OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi, and overseas to Apple, Samsung and domestic counterparts."

Recently, world-renowned market research institutions released 202 1 first quarter smartphone data. From the data point of view, the top five increased significantly year-on-year. Among them, mobile phone manufacturers Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi ranked in the top three with market share of 23%, 17% and 15% respectively. However, Huawei has fallen out of the top five in the world, with shipments of only 6.5438+0.49 million units. Compared with the total shipments of 306,543.8+10,000 units in the same period last year, the shipments have already suffered a "cliff-like decline".

We all know that the most successful place of Huawei's mobile phones is in the high-end market, in which high-end mobile phones account for more than 70% of Huawei's mobile phone revenue, once surpassing Samsung and becoming the first in the world.

Then let's take a look at what has happened in the domestic high-end mobile phone market.

First of all, on April 29th, Apple also announced the results of the second fiscal quarter of 20021fiscal year, with a total revenue of 89.584 billion US dollars (equivalent to about 580 billion yuan), an increase of 54% over the same period last year. The net profit was US$ 23.63 billion (equivalent to RMB 65.438+05.3 billion), up 654.38+065.438+00% year-on-year. Among them, the revenue of mobile phone products reached 49.738 billion US dollars, accounting for 55.6% of the total revenue.

In Greater China, Apple's data is even more eye-catching, with an increase of 87.5% in the second quarter. At present, the business income in Greater China accounts for 20% of Apple's total revenue, second only to Europe and America, but the growth rate is much higher than the latter's 55.8% and 34.7%. In the ranking of smartphone sales in JD.COM Mall, the shipments of iPhone 1 1 series and iPhone 12 series have been at the top of the list for a long time.

Cook even bluntly said, "We have attracted some new customers in China, which is really important to us." .

In terms of tablet computers, Apple has almost no rivals in China, and its Ipad series basically exists at the ceiling level. Huawei used to have some influence on tablets, but now there is nothing it can do.

Secondly, domestic mobile phone manufacturers have also begun to exert their efforts in the high-end market, such as Xiaomi 1 1 Ultra and its latest folding mobile phone Mix Fold, as well as OPPO and VIVO, all of which are in the middle and high-end market. In the domestic high-end market, the competition of domestic manufacturers has just begun, and there are still many ways to compete with Apple.

In the first quarter of 20021,global smartphone shipments reached 347 million units, up 27% year-on-year, including Samsung's growth of 28%, Apple's growth of 4 1%, Xiaomi's growth of 62%, OPPO's growth of 60% and VIVO's growth of 48%.

From the data point of view, Yu Chengdong once again verified that "the high-end was given to Apple, the low-end was given to OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi, and overseas was given to Apple, Samsung and domestic counterparts."

Although Huawei's mobile phones suffered serious setbacks, Huawei did not compromise on this and began to actively expand new businesses, especially HarmonyOS systems and smart cars, which have begun to face consumers. As long as the products are excellent, the most important thing is the market!
