The He Luo Drums, which originated in the late Qing Dynasty, were developed on the basis of the Luoyang Qin Shu. The old name of Luoyang qinshu was "qin yin", and the early singing instrument was the traditional seven-stringed guqin. In the early days, the Luoyang qinshu was sung in a closed-eye manner, and its singing voice was euphemistic and delicate, with fewer words and a lot of cadences and a slow, drawn-out rhythm, and its repertoire was mostly middle-aged and short stories about the sorrows and joys of talented people and beautiful women. "Qin Yin" was sung among officials, merchants and gentlemen and literati, with elegant lyrics, and after flowing into the civil society, it was renamed as "qin book", and its qin was changed to yangqin. According to the Luoyang local history, the formation process and the first time for the formation of He Luo drums: before the end of the Qing Dynasty, Luoyang city and countryside, the more widely circulated form of music and art called "qinshu".

Around the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Civil War, Yanshi County qinshu artists concentrated in the village of Duanwan, Duan Yan and others went to Nanyang to learn the art of learning the local "drums". And with the combination of Luoyang dialect qinshu, gradually formed a drum with local characteristics of Luoyang. In the process of development, there were names such as "Drum Touching Strings", "Drum Beijing Cavity", "Luoyang Drum", etc. The name "He Luo Drum" was given to the group in 1919, and the name "He Luo Drum" was given to the group in 1948, and the name "He Luo Drum" was given to the group in 1948. The name "He Luo Drum" was officially named in 1952. The most common form of performance of the He Luo Drum is that the main singer plays the steel plate with his left hand, strikes the flat drum with his right hand, and is accompanied by a musician with a falling hu. The singing style is cheerful and lively, the atmosphere is enthusiastic, often in the form of "wishing books", performed in the countryside courtyard.
