Introduction to Longwen Pagoda
Longwen Pagoda, located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain on the north side of Xixi Bridge in the east of Zhangzhou City, was built in the Song Dynasty. It is a seven-story hexagonal hollow tower with dense eaves. The building is large in scale and exquisite in technology. The inside and outside of the tower are covered with exquisite stone carvings. It embodies the superb architectural technology of ancient Zhangzhou people. Longwen Pagoda, after its completion, is regarded as a symbol of Zou Lu and seashore, and has always been the cultural peak of Zhangzhou. Later, due to various reasons, Longwen Pagoda disappeared in the misty rain of history, which became a part of the memory of Zhangzhou people and a great regret of Zhangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city. In recent years, with the attention of all walks of life at home and abroad, Longwen Pagoda has been erected again from the place where it disappeared, overlooking the beautiful and rich Zhangzhou Plain with its ancient image and brand-new courage.
In recent years, the people of longwen district have planned and built Longwen Horticultural Garden centering on Longwen Pagoda, covering an area of about 4 hectares. It consists of two pavilions, a garden and a water surface, and is connected with the nearby "First Forest of Steles in Southern Fujian", Yundongyan, a provincial-level scenic spot in Fujian Province, Jiangdong Bridge, a giant Liang Shi Bridge in the Song Dynasty, and Wansongguan, a national key cultural relics protection unit, making it a scenic spot in the eastern suburb of Zhangzhou.
