At present, there are many ways to restore cultural relics in China, mostly on the basis of respecting the original works. For stone cultural relics, our country carries out "nanotechnology" restoration, that is, a layer of nano-material with a depth of about 20mm is brushed on the waterproof layer on the surface of stone cultural relics to prevent ultraviolet radiation erosion and microbial corrosion.

There is also the application of hyperspectral imaging technology to restore cultural relics. For example, when restoring the 80th birthday of the Queen Mother of Chongqing, the restoration team first scanned the cultural relics with a hyperspectral scanner, without any damage to the cultural relics. Then extract the pigment information of ancient paintings recorded in the scanner, infer the types of pigment raw materials, and restore ancient paintings to the maximum extent. Hyperspectral scanner can not only analyze the composition of pigments, painting techniques, but also analyze the potential hazards that affect the preservation of cultural relics. The restored ancient paintings are brand-new and lifelike, which can be passed on to our descendants.

The restored cultural relics have not become fakes, but have been re-energized through modern technology, so that our future generations can also appreciate these beautiful treasures bearing history.
