Lantern Festival, is it a traditional festival in China?

The Lantern Festival, also known as Shangyuan Festival, Xiaozhengyue, Yuanxi or Lantern Festival, is the first important festival after the Spring Festival, and is one of the traditional festivals of China, also in the area of the Chinese character cultural circle and overseas Chinese. It is one of the traditional festivals for Chinese people in China and overseas Chinese people. The first month of the lunar calendar is the first month of the lunar year, and the ancients called the night "night", so the first full moon night of the year, the fifteenth day of the first month, is called the Lantern Festival.

In June 2008, the Lantern Festival was selected as one of the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage.
