There are two kinds of dramas in Guilin, namely, Guangxi Opera and Opera.

1, Guangxi Opera: It is one of the local operas in Guangxi. Commonly known as Guiju Opera or Guiban Opera, it is a kind of opera sung in Guilin dialect. It's exquisite, appropriate and lively. It conveys feelings by means of facial expressions and postures, and pays attention to shaping characters with delicate and realistic performance techniques. Guangxi Opera was introduced into Guilin in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, and after a period of language changes, it gradually evolved into Guangxi Opera. Famous ones are Liang Hongyu, Golden Branch, Broken Bridge, etc.

2. Colored drama: commonly known as tune, color tone, lantern, Na and Hai, etc. , a kind of lantern drama, originated from rural song and dance and rap in Guilin, Guangxi. There are about 500 kinds of color-coded dramas, namely, one-man show, rival show, big flirt, three minor shows, leading show and rival show. Color opera was originally one of the traditional operas in northern Guangxi, and it is a local opera loved by people of all ethnic groups in Guangxi. Common ones are "Wang San Beats Birds" and "Sister Liu".
