What are the classic management theories?
① Early management theory
This theory came into being in the second half of18th century. Adam Smith, the main representative, put forward the theory of labor value, the theory of division of labor and david ricardo. Based on the labor theory of value, he studied capital, wages, profits and land rent, and revealed the central problem of capitalist economic management and the essence of exploitation.
② Traditional management theory
The characteristic of this theory is a set of management theories and methods accumulated according to the management practice experience of enterprises for many years.
Its representatives are: Babbage, who developed Adam Smith's theory of division of labor; Put forward twelve principles of management efficiency; Mais put forward six principles of management; Blanc advocates three principles of management and so on.
③ Scientific management theory
The remarkable feature of this theory is that science and technology are the main basis for establishing management theory, which includes different theoretical schools.
Among them, the outstanding representatives are: Taylor (USA), who put forward the standard operation of selling and buying, the principle of labor quota and the principle of standardization; Fa Yueer (French) put forward that management is different from management, but one of the six functional activities of management, namely, technical activities, commercial activities, financial activities, safety activities, accounting activities and management activities; Weber (Germany) put forward the ideal theory of administrative organization system, emphasizing the establishment of rules and disciplines that are not influenced by personal feelings and are applicable under any circumstances, and the relationship between people in the organization is completely guided by rational norms; Urwick (UK) put forward eight principles that he thought were applicable to all organizations, namely, the principle of objectives, the principle of conformity, the principle of responsibility, the principle of organizational hierarchy, the principle of control breadth, the principle of specialization, the principle of coordination and the principle of clarity. Geely Card (USA) systematized various theories about management functions and put forward the famous theory of seven functions of management, namely, planning, organization, personnel, command, coordination, reporting and budgeting.
