The significance of the inheritance of Fuzhou Dialect

The Fuzhou dialect has great historical and cultural value from the point of view of the form of accompanying musical instruments, the way of chanting and performing, the unique genre of the song and the subject matter of the traditional song, etc. It has been called the living fossil of the ancient art of music. However, the contemporary survival and development of Fuzhou commentary is facing great difficulties and needs to be vigorously supported and protected.

The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage, on May 20, 2006, the song was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
