Common methods of automobile manufacturing
(1) CO2 gas shielded welding - it is a welding technology developed in the early 50s.
Advantages:
1) Low cost of welding (by-products of breweries and chemical plants, wide range of sources, low prices)
2) High productivity. Arc penetration is strong, the depth of fusion is large, and the melting of the wire, so the melting speed is fast, the productivity can be 1-4 times higher than the manual arc welding
3) High welding quality. As the heat of CO2 gas shielded welding is more concentrated, welding speed, so the heat affected area of the weld is narrow, welding deformation is small;
4) Wide range of application. Regardless of the position, different plate thicknesses can be welded
5) CO2 gas shielded welding is a bright arc welding method, you can observe the arc and the molten pool, easy to monitor and control, no need to clean slag after welding, there are problems: CO2 arc welding equipment is more complex; afraid of the wind, open-air work is limited. Strong arc light and heat radiation, etc.
(2) resistance welding
Spot Welding: spot welding is assembled into a lap joint, placed between the two electrodes pressed on the electricity, the use of resistance heat to melt the base material, the formation of weld core.
Seam Welding: The workpiece passes between two rotating roller electric poles to form a continuous weld with a lap joint before and after the weld.
Convex weld: A workpiece with preformed convex joints. When convex welding, one or more nuclei can be formed at a time in the joint
Butt welding: two workpiece end face contact, after resistance heating and pressurization along the entire contact surface is welded
Advantages:
1) with high current, short time, pressurized state of the characteristics of welding, deformation and stress is small.
2) No filler metal is required, and equipment running costs are low compared to other methods.
3) Used in the manufacture of lap joints can be used, joints do not require gas-tight sheet components
4) Simple operation, high productivity, easy to realize automation.
Disadvantages:
1) the lack of a simple and reliable non-destructive testing of the quality of the welded joints
2) equipment complexity, high power, more investment.
3) The size, shape, thickness and material of the weldment by the welder power, arm size and structural shape of the limitations, so for some closed, semi-closed structure or because of the weldment material does not apply to the welding and not using resistance welding.
