The Folk Culture of Sijia Town

Sijia is located in Tongdong. There are various forms of folk literature and art. For hundreds of years, folk songs in dialect, singing songs in the east, leaving the stone in the east, dancing in the dragon, singing songs on the beam, folk dances and folk stories have been circulated. These are the unique and precious literary treasures of Sijia people and Tongdong people.

Jumping god of wealth

1978 Jiang, a Sijia native who used to work in Haimen Cultural Center, arranged the old popular "jumping god of wealth" in Sijia and Tongdong as a historical and cultural heritage and incorporated it into the folk dance integration of the Ministry of Culture. "Jumping the God of Wealth" is a popular cultural form evolved from the temple fair. Performers are generally poor. They use the "God of Wealth" to extend their image, and use the custom of celebrating the Spring Festival to travel around towns and villages, carrying props "Yuanbao". With the rhythm of gongs and drums, they jump into other people's houses, halls and kitchens, indicating that it is actually a form of begging.

Tune the lion.

Usually, one person plays the lion's head, the other plays the lion's tail, and the other holds a hydrangea to lead the lion to dance, beating gongs and dancing. There are many onlookers, which adds fun to the festival.

walk on stilts

Originally, it was a manifestation of temple fair culture. Later, it evolved into a folk literature form in Sijia area and Tongdong area. During the performance, eight people stood on stilts and dressed up as the Eight Immortals, with different expressions, which seemed to show their magical powers.
