Hong Kong and mainland customs clearance still need a Hong Kong and Macao Travel Permit?

You need a Hong Kong and Macao Exit-Entry Permit to go to Hong Kong for customs clearance.

April 1, 2019 onwards, travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao, travel to and from Taiwan passes and other exit and entry documents to implement the "national pass", that is, mainland residents can apply for exit and entry documents at any exit and entry management window in the country, the application procedures are the same as the place of domicile.

The pass application:

2, with ID card, household registration.

3, go to the place of domicile of the Public Security Bureau of the Exit and Entry Administration to take pictures of the site to fill out the form to apply for, about 10-15 days to do it, you can go to Immigration to pick up, or you can send it to their own designated address.

4. Whether the marriage is registered in (Hong Kong) or (China), the procedure and time for approval of the OWP is the same. Under the current arrangement, the authority to approve the OWP is exercised by the mainland authorities.

Introduction of the document

Mainland residents who travel to and from Hong Kong or Macao SAR for private purposes for sightseeing, visiting relatives, engaging in non-official activities such as business, training and employment, etc., should apply to the public security authorities of the cities or counties where their hukou is located for exit and entry administration, and go there on the basis of the Exit and Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao with a valid exit-entry endorsement issued by the public security authorities.

When traveling on the basis of the Exit-Entry Administration of the Public Security Bureau's Exit-Entry Administration Permit for Traveling to Hong Kong and Macao, for settlement in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the holder must exit the country at the Luohu Port, the Shenzhen Bay Port, the Shekou Ferry Terminal Port (by boat), and the Futian Port; and for settlement in the Macao Special Administrative Region, the holder must exit the country at the Gongbei Port in Zhuhai.

The validity period of the EEP to and from Hong Kong and Macao is 5 years for those under 16 years old, and the validity period of the electronic EEP to and from Hong Kong and Macao for adults has been extended to 10 years, and the endorsements are categorized into the endorsement for visiting relatives, business endorsement, group travel endorsement, individual travel endorsement, other endorsements, and sojourn endorsement, and the holders are required to travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao within the validity period of the EEP to and from Hong Kong and Macao and the endorsements, and travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao within the stipulated number of times and the time limit of the stay.
