Early photographic works

Zhang Yinquan (1900— 197 1), a native of Feng Run County, Hebei Province, graduated from the Department of Economics of Beijing National University of Political Science and Law, and is good at landscape and figure photography, proficient in photography science, and has made outstanding contributions to the development of photography in China. Mr. Sheng was a researcher of Xinhua News Agency, vice chairman of China Photography Society and member of the National Committee of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

Zhang Yinquan's photographic life is divided into four stages by photography theorist Di Yuancang: "The first stage (192 1- 1927) is the period when he began to learn photography and explore photography techniques. The second stage (1927— 1937) is the heyday of his photography. The third stage (1937— 1949) is the period when he studied, edited and reformed his camera and lens. The fourth stage (1949- 197 1 year) is a new period for the development of his photography art. "

In the second stage of Zhang Yinquan's photography life, I divided it into two parts. In the first part, Zhang Yinquan's works are full of poetry and painting. These freehand photography works are in line with the traditional aesthetic habits of our country and cater to the cultural taste of domestic people to appreciate works of art; In the second part of Zhang Yinquan's works, due to the great shock of the "September 18th" lost land, he gradually turned from the theme of romance to photography reflecting the life of working people and the real society. His masterpiece "Turning the tide" is a turning point in his photography career.

However, this issue first introduces the first part of the second stage of Zhang Yinquan's photography life, and his works are selected from Ta Kung Pao Pictorial Collection 1934 published by Tianjin Ta Kung Pao Museum in August. Since Zhang Yinquan held his solo exhibition in Zhongshan Park in the autumn of 193 1, it was not until June of 1963 that he held his second solo exhibition, with an interval of nearly 32 years. People have always been indifferent to his early works, and Zhang Yinquan's early works are not widely circulated and rarely exist in the world. To some extent, the collection of Ta Kung Pao pictorial is also rare.
