A detailed introduction to Fangsheng Lantern Festival and Lantern Festival

Fangsheng Town is located in the north bank of the middle reaches of Dongdian Lake, a famous wetland in Hebei Province, 40 kilometers east of Bazhou City, and is under the jurisdiction of Bazhou City. Fangsheng Lantern Festival has a long history, and it has taken shape in the early Ming Dynasty, which is famous in Beijing, Tianjin and North China.

99 stern boats lined up in Hanoi, each carrying three people, one with pole and two with lights. "Lantern Hand" takes oil-soaked colored paper as the chassis, and uses art paper to make a one-foot lotus lantern on it. After burning the wax, put it into the water one by one for the crowded people on both sides of the strait to watch. Lantern Festival Ice Lantern was born in the highland fishermen's settlement area among reeds in Henan Province. As the festival approaches, fishermen collect large pieces of ice from TEPCO and transport them to the huge reed shed that has already been set up. Skillful craftsmen worked day and night to show their magical powers and carefully carved more than 100 Buddha statues. The first form of Fangsheng Lantern Festival is to set up a lampstand with a height of 2 meters and an area of about 60 square meters in the central square in front of the Laoye Temple in the street, commonly known as "Aoshan". The lampstand is covered with hundreds of selected homemade lanterns. Fangsheng Lantern Festival lasts for five days, from the 13th to the 18th of the first month. During Fangsheng Lantern Festival, more than 70 kinds of ancient Han folk flowers will roam the streets during the day, and theaters, libraries, restaurants and teahouses will hold all-weather benefit performances. In the evening, people gather around Aoshan to watch lights and listen to songs, and folk artists on Aoshan take turns to perform, which is very lively. Since the reform and opening up, with the changes of production mode, regional environment and urban construction, Fangsheng Lantern Festival has added new forms of lantern festival performance.

As a grand gathering of Han folk culture, Fang Sheng has as many as 2,000 kinds of traditional lanterns, mainly including animals, plants, figures, vessels, buildings, deities and buddhas. No matter how big or small, they are rigorous in technology, meticulous in workmanship and strive for perfection. Fangsheng Lantern is developed in the specific regional environment, production and lifestyle and folk customs, and it has its own system. Many lanterns are unique in form. For example, the "Pig and Eight Rings Lantern" has dozens of openings that can be opened and closed at the same time.

In recent years, making full use of high-tech means and new technical materials, the production skills of sound, light, electricity, line and color are integrated, and the types of lanterns are more complicated, such as giant lamps, street lamps or combined lamps, which are amazing at Fangsheng Lantern Festival.

The annual Fangsheng Lantern Festival fully demonstrated the talent, wisdom and creative spirit of Fangsheng. It enriches and enlivens the cultural life of local people during the Spring Festival and is deeply loved by the masses.
