What to do if your computer can't find your desktop
1. Check if your desktop icons are hidden: right-click on a blank space on your desktop, select "View", and make sure that the "Show desktop icons" option is checked. This ensures that desktop icons are visible.
2. Check the desktop icon layout: Sometimes desktop icons may be rearranged or misplaced. You can try right-clicking on a blank space on your desktop, selecting Sort, and then choosing Sort by Name or Sort by Item to restore the normal layout of your desktop icons.
3. Restart Explorer: Sometimes desktop icons don't show up due to certain issues, which you can fix by restarting Explorer. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, find the "Processes" tab, locate the "Explorer" process, right-click on it and select "End Task". Then, in the File menu of Task Manager, select Run New Task, type "explorer.exe" and click OK, which will restart Explorer.
4. Restore Desktop Defaults: If none of the above methods work, you can try restoring your desktop settings to default. In Windows, open the Control Panel, select Appearance and Personalization, then Personalize, select Themes in the left menu, and finally click the Restore Defaults button.
If you have tried all of the above and still can't solve the problem, we recommend that you try contacting your computer's manufacturer or a technical support professional for further help and support.
