What traditional food do you eat on Torch Festival?
Traditional foods eaten on Torch Festival include: Tuotuo meat, buckwheat steamed bread and Ciba noodles. During the Torch Festival, people in villages and stockyards will slaughter cattle, sheep and pigs, greet Vulcan with wine and meat or worship ancestors. People will also cook buckwheat buns, pieces of meat and Ciba noodles, and drink their own wine around the fireplace to enjoy a happy time.
Torch Festival
Torch Festival is a traditional festival of Yi, Bai, Naxi, Jinuo, Lahu and other ethnic groups, which has profound folk culture connotation and is called "Carnival of the East".
The Yi, Naxi and Jinuo nationalities are held on June 24th of the lunar calendar, the Bai nationality on June 25th and the Lahu nationality on June 20th for two to three days.
