Guangxi Zhuang brocade

Zhuang brocade is a famous traditional silk product in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which was produced in Song Dynasty. In Song Dynasty, Zhuang nationality was called Gelao nationality, so Zhuang brocade was also called Gelao brocade. Yarn-dyed jacquard fabrics with cotton yarn or linen yarn as warp and mulberry silk as weft are also woven with dyed mulberry silk as warp and dyed rayon or gold (silver) leather as weft. Use two sets of warp yarns and four sets of weft yarns to weave weft flowers of various colors on satin weave patterns to form symmetrical patterns, or use weft yarns of various colors to pick out patterns. The patterns of Zhuang brocade are close to those of paper-cut and varied. Traditional patterns include flowers, birds, fish, insects, animals and words like "Wan" and "Double Happiness". The lines are strong and colorful, and are often woven with several different colors of silk thread. The colors are mainly red, green, black and yellow, usually with red as the background color. They are colorful, brightly colored, with strong contrast and rich and rough artistic style. There are many kinds, which can be divided into lace silk, belt silk, headscarf, scarf, quilt cover, tablecloth, shoulder strap, backpack, cushion, apron, bed blanket, wall towel, brocade screen and so on.

In addition to the above four famous tapestries, other places also produce tapestries with their own characteristics. Such as Dai brocade, Miao brocade and Yao brocade in Guangxi, Wa brocade and Lahu brocade in Yunnan, Buyi brocade in Guizhou, Tujia brocade in Xiangxi and Hubei, and Li brocade in Hainan.
