What kind of leaders are most popular?

People in the workplace often joke: "It is more difficult to find a good boss than a good wife (husband)." A joke, but it tells the voice of people in the workplace. After all, employees and bosses stand in different angles and positions, and contradictions are inevitable. Whether this contradiction can be solved is directly related to the cohesion and production efficiency of enterprises, so how to deal with the relationship between bosses and employees has become an art in enterprise management. Oriental Time and Space and Zhaopin jointly conducted a survey on the attitude of people in the workplace towards leadership. The results show that among the 1.5 million respondents, only 1.4 people in the workplace clearly express that they don't like their leaders, and most of them get along well with them.

How to address the boss

Boss, there are broad sense and narrow sense. Needless to say, it refers to the owner of the enterprise in a narrow sense, and the boss is his own leader in a broad sense. In a broader sense, even graduate students often call tutors "bosses". In the south, women usually call their husbands "bosses". In a word, the boss should be equated with the leader here. The appellation of leaders has also undergone a change in recent years, from the original position to today's appellation, which is varied and different. By addressing the leaders of a unit, we can also see the internal cultural atmosphere of a unit. In 2005, Zhaopin once made a "Do you dare to call your boss by his first name?" The results show that only 1% companies can call their bosses by their first names, and of course, Zhaopin recruitment is also within this 1%. This time, the survey on addressing leaders once again confirmed that China's corporate culture is becoming more and more open and relaxed. Although it is still the mainstream to be commensurate with the position, the number of people who dare to call their bosses by their first names has increased from 1% to 7.5%.

The title of a leader cannot be generalized. Different industries have different names because of the different nature of their jobs. Civil servants, construction real estate, household appliances and other traditional units. It is still called the main body by the position, while teacher training and media are obviously higher than other industries because of their job content commensurate with teachers. The service industry and the media are more willing to be brothers and sisters than other industries, and they are very kind, while relatively new industries such as IT and consulting are far more familiar with first names and use English names.

The difference of appellation is more obvious in the nature of enterprises. Government agencies, other institutions and state-owned enterprises are much higher than private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises in the traditional ways of addressing positions and teachers, while foreign-funded enterprises are far higher than other units in using English names and calling them by their first names.

Gentle and knowledgeable leaders are the most popular.

There are many types of leaders, so which type of leaders do you prefer in the minds of employees? The survey shows that sheep leaders who are kind, gentle and close to the people are the most popular, followed by wise and knowledgeable dolphin leaders. Hands-on bee leaders have become the most unpopular leaders, so leaders must not think that everything is a good leader, and they must delegate when it is time to delegate, otherwise it is likely to be "thankless."

Among all industries, the traditional household appliances industry and the marketing industry that needs to keep moving forward prefer lion-style leadership, while the service industry that needs to be displayed prefers peacock-style leadership than other industries. More than half of the respondents in the consulting industry prefer dolphin-style leadership, which is much higher than other industries and the overall average.

Most people in the workplace always keep a certain distance from their bosses, and the relationship is "neither too hot nor too cold", so most people in the workplace have a general relationship with their bosses. Except for 20% people who prefer their own leaders, the remaining 1/4 clearly indicates that they don't like their own leaders.

In the different nature of enterprises, we can see that in foreign-funded enterprises, people who like to lead the workplace are higher than those in other units, while in the "dislike" option, respondents from state-owned enterprises, governments and other institutions are higher than those from private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises. It can be seen that in terms of management methods, foreign-funded enterprises do have a lot to learn from domestic units.

1/4 Among those who don't like leadership, more than half of them hate their own leadership because of the boss's moral cultivation. It can be seen that a leader must be a man first. If you can't be a popular person, then you can't be a popular boss at all. Secondly, it is mainly because of management ability. As a manager, if you don't have certain management ability, it will be more difficult to "serve the public" than to have no business ability. A manager who lacks management ability will inevitably have no "popularity" among subordinates, which will lead to a weak cohesion of the whole team, a decline in work efficiency, and even more time and energy will be wasted in tasteless "internal friction".

The bossy boss stepped aside.

Everyone has his own shortcomings, so as a boss, what problems in his work life will become fatal shortcomings that affect his relationship with employees? As it turns out, dictatorial bosses are the least popular. Although partiality, commitment and fickleness are hard for employees to accept, they are the first bosses who are arbitrary and don't listen to opinions. Whether you can listen to the correct opinions of employees reflects whether the leaders and even the whole unit respect employees. Working in an equal and democratic environment will constantly inspire employees' sense of ownership and make employees willing to pay more for their work, which is good for employees themselves, bosses and employers.

As mentioned above, being a boss is to be a man first, so don't underestimate some details in life. Often some personal behaviors will affect the image of leaders in the minds of employees. Among the various minor faults of leaders, the most unacceptable thing for employees is that leaders swear. I like the way employees work the least, but in fact, employees can't accept it and are not respected. At the end of 2005, in the 2005CCTV annual employer survey jointly conducted by Zhaopin Recruitment and Absolute Challenge, all the selected excellent employers have a very prominent indicator, that is, their employees all said that one of the main meanings of work lies in the feeling of being respected. Only when the boss respects the employees can the employees respect the boss.

In a word, it is not easy to be a good leader, especially one who is loved by employees. We should not only have the management ability that managers should have, but also lead others in life. In any case, the boss should respect his employees, which is a necessary condition for a good leader. In addition, it depends on the boss's own cultivation and efforts.
