What's the difference between eaves height and building height?
The cornice height refers to the height from the designed outdoor terrace to the bottom of the cornice.
If the gutter is cantilevered, the elevation from the bottom of the gutter to the outdoor ground shall prevail. If there are multiple external eaves gutters, they should be distinguished according to different heights. If there are multiple gutters at the same location, the higher one shall prevail.
If there is no outer gutter but only an inner gutter, the bottom of the inner gutter to the outdoor ground shall prevail;
If there is no gutter, the dripping part of the roof (such as the flat sloping eaves extending out of the external wall) shall prevail.

(2) Stairwells, elevators, decorative towers, observation towers, roof windows, water tanks and other prominent parts of the building roof have a total horizontal projection area less than 20% of the roof area, and the height does not exceed four meters, which is not included in the building height.
(three) when the building is a sloping roof building with a slope of more than 30 degrees, the building height should be calculated according to half of the height from the top of the slope to the outdoor ground.
(4) The building height in the control zone of cultural relics protection and construction shall be calculated according to the highest point of buildings and structures (including elevators, staircases, water tanks, chimneys and other structures) and the height from the cornice to the ground in the form of traditional large roofs in China.
