What is persimmon?

Persimmon picking is a traditional persimmon picking method, which is mainly common in North China and Northeast China. In addition to persimmons, there are other fruits that use this method.

Persimmons generally choose mature red persimmons, because this kind of persimmons have fuller flesh and better taste. Put the persimmon in warm water, the water temperature should not be too high, so as not to burn the persimmon. By slowly raising the water temperature, the peel of persimmon gradually softens. This process requires some patience and skill. If the water temperature is too high or the heating time is too long, the peel of persimmon may break or the pulp may deteriorate.

Once the peel is soft enough, you can take out the persimmon. This process needs to be careful to avoid persimmon damage. The persimmon is cleaned, and the peel, branches and leaves are removed, so it can be ready to eat.

Operation steps of taking persimmon:

Material preparation: 2 persimmons, appropriate amount of water, etc.

1. Select mature persimmons. The skin of ripe persimmons will turn red and the texture will become soft. If the persimmon is not fully ripe, you can let it ripen naturally at room temperature. If the persimmon is over-ripe, don't choose it, because the over-ripe persimmon tastes bad and tends to deteriorate.

2. Wash persimmons. Persimmons are soaked in clear water for 5 to 10 minutes, and then rinsed with clear water. This can remove the dirt and impurities on the surface and keep the persimmon hygienic.

3. Put persimmon in a ventilated place to dry. If persimmon still contains moisture, it will affect the taste and storage time. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that persimmons are completely dried before picking.

4. Store persimmons in a ventilated and dry place. The storage temperature of persimmon should be between 5- 10℃, and the storage environment should be kept dry and ventilated to avoid moisture. Generally, the storage time should not exceed one month.
